Stats Freeze

Wednesday July 20th begins the stats freeze for the remainder of the season. This means no updates to stats will be made and no players will be added to a game sheet after the game sheet has been entered unless it is a data entry error. All stats on the game sheets are final and no adjustments will be made.

Spare goalie process for playoffs

If a team requires a spare goalie they must give a MINIMUM of 24 hours notice. Teams are to email stats@nchl.com  as well as their account manager with all of the teams the spare goalie plays on, any other leagues the spare goalie plays in, and all stats from all team pages for the teams they play on.

Spare goalies must play in the NCHL current S2017 season and play in the same division or lower to be considered an acceptable spare goalie. Goalies playing in divisions higher than the team division will not be approved as a spare goalie. Goalies not currently playing in the NCHL in the S2017 season will not be approved for playoffs.

Goalies are only reviewed on a per game basis, if a goalie is approved for one game that does not make them automatically approved for a second. They must send a request in for each game they require a spare goalie.

We do understand that there are last minute fill ins required in some instances. If a team is not able to follow the spare goalie process above due to a last minute cancelation they are still required to submit all of the above info BEFORE the goalie plays their game.

A review will be completed ASAP after the game and if the goalie is determined to be above the level of the division they are playing in the team will forfeit after the game is played and their opponent will continue on.

Anytime a spare goalie is approved for playoffs no goalie listed on the regular season team goalie roster is able to play out and the team will forfeit for playing an illegal player if they do so.

No jersey infractions are allowed in playoffs

Every team is required to have matching jerseys in playoffs. Players that are not in an acceptable team jersey based on the NCHL jersey rules will not be permitted to play.

All players require 5 games to qualify for playoffs. We do not make any exceptions on minimum games required for playoffs.  All goalies require 5 games in goal to play in playoffs. Goalies with less than 5 games played must follow the spare goalie process above.

A player with a combination of games between goal and player is permitted to play out however, if you require this player to play in net and the player does not have 5 games playing in goal you must follow the spare goalie request above.

Any questions please contact your account manager.

Roster and Stats Freeze

Saturday March 4th begins the stats/roster freeze for the remainder of the season.  This means no updates to stats will be made and no players will be added to a game sheet after the game sheet has been entered unless it is a data entry error.  All stats on the game sheets are final and no adjustments will be made.

Spare goalie process for playoffs

If a team requires a spare goalie for playoffs they must give a MINIMUM of 24 hours notice. The spare goalie information is to be sent to stats@nchl.com  as well as the team account manager no later than 24 hours prior to the game they are requesting a spare goalie for with all of the teams the spare goalie plays on, any other leagues the spare goalie plays in, and all stats from all team pages for the teams they play on.

Spare goalies that play in the NCHL current W2016-17 season and play in the same division or lower will be considered an acceptable spare goalie.  Goalies playing in divisions higher than the team division will not be approved as a spare goalie.

For all tier 4 teams, all goalies playing within div 12-14 with a minimum 10 games played on a tier 4 team will be acceptable for team to request an approval from the league as long as they do not play on any teams above division 12 and are of the same team ability.  Any goalie playing above division 12 will not be approved as a spare goalie.  This includes any team that the goalie may have spared on.

A review will be completed ASAP after the game and if the goalie is determined to be above the level of the division they are playing in, the team will forfeit after the game is played and their opponent will continue on.

Anytime a spare goalie is approved for playoffs no goalie listed on the regular season team goalie roster is able to play out and the team will forfeit for playing an illegal player if they do so.

All players and Goalies require 10 games to qualify for playoffs.

We do not make any exceptions on minimum games required for players in playoffs, all goalies with less than 10 games playing in net must be approved by the league.

A player with a combination of 10 games between goal and player is permitted to play out however, if you require this player to play in net and the player does not have 10 games playing in goal you must follow the spare goalie request above.

No jersey infractions are allowed in playoffs

Every team is required to have matching jerseys in playoffs.  Players that are not in an acceptable team jersey based on the NCHL jersey rules will not be permitted to play.

Valid government issued ID must be shown to the time keeper individually by each player when entering the ice.

The time keeper will not hold IDs for the team during the game. Once you have shown your ID to the time keeper the time keeper will return your ID to you. Players are responsible to keep this ID on the bench during the game in case a verification from your opponent is requested. Please bring an envelope etc to put all team IDs in during the game so IDs are not left behind or misplaced.

Rule Reminder
Posted By:
Wednesday, October 26, 2016

This is a reminder that the NCHL has a ZERO tolerance policy on all racial, homophobic and other slurs directed at any players, referees and others in the arena. Any instance of this heard by a game official will result in an immediate gross misconduct, with possible further discipline (suspension or expulsion from the league).

NCHL Fighting Rule

There is no fighting permitted In the NCHL. The consequences can carry a lifetime ban from the NCHL and no refund will be given. A fight is defined as an altercation with multiple punches thrown (with or without gloves on), at least one willing combatant, and the referees have difficulty separating the players.

2016/17 Schedules

Schedules will be updated in 2 parts this winter: early to mid-September and after Christmas. We are negotiating with the city for more ice slots in an attempt to offer earlier times and other locations. If new options are available, a second round of package selections will be offered.

Spare Goalies

If you need a resource to find an appropriate goalie during the regular season, there is a list of spare goalies here http://info.nchl.com/spares/   They still need to be waivered before playing.

Also, please use your account manager and contacts from other teams in the NCHL.

Managing DNQ and Waivers
Posted By:
Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Please make sure you have joined your team on Breakout. When you do you will need to read and agree to the waiver. You will not be permitted to play until you have done so. Hockey is a fast and potentially dangerous sport, so all players should have their own insurance. Any player that comes to play for your team as a sub will have to sign the online waiver as well before they can play. The team GM can assign them as a spare on Breakout where the player can sign the waiver.

A waiver/registration will be referenced on the entering of the game sheet, and if there is none they will become DNQ.

HOW TO ASSIGN A WAIVER: Your spare players have to accept the link before they play.

Step 1 - Invite the player to the team on Breakout

Step 2 - Add the player to your team roster on NCHL.com  before the game  - this will ensure the player is not DNQ on the first game, and since he filled out a waiver and is in the list of waivered players, he won't get flagged on the spreadsheet when we do the update.

We have to make sure EVERYONE playing is 100% approved to play which includes player contract and waiver.

Once all the DNQs are gone from rosters and your roster is accurate you should have no issues.

The importance is then managing your spares (see big red letters above).

2015/2016 playoff rules
Posted By: Admin
Thursday, March 31, 2016

All players are required to bring photo identification to all playoff games. If you do not have photo ID you will not be permitted to play. NO EXCEPTIONS

Time:
3 - 15 Minute stop-time periods.
If the score is tied with 7:00 remaining in permit (ice time), the clock will be reset to 2:00.
If the score remains tied at the end of regulation time, the winner will be decided by a shoot-out.
If the score becomes tied with less than 5:00 remaining in permit (ice time), shoot-out will take place immediately.

Shoot-outs:
Each team will designate 5 players for shoot-out. These 5 players will have to be submitted to the time keeper, and must shoot in the order submitted.
The designated players from each team will alternate until all 10 players have shot.
If the score remains tied after the intial 10 players have shot, the winner will be decided by a 'sudden-death' shoot-out.
No player serving a penalty at the end of regulation time will be permitted to participate in the shoot-out.
The original 5 designated players from each team will alternate until a winner has been decided.

Teams will no longer be reseeded as they win, teams will advance through playoff rounds as per the schedule posted online.

Seeding order:

1. Divisional Win % (only games played between teams that are currently in the same division are applied towards divisional win percentage seedings)
2. Fewer penalty minutes
3. Goal differential
4. Coin toss

If your team is unable to proceed in the playoffs please advise the time keeper at the start of the game.
In this situation the game will be played, but your opponent will continue on to the next round of the playoffs.

Player Eligibility

Players must play a minimum of 1/3 of a teams games to be eligible for playoffs and provincials.

If any player is determined to be ineligible (not approved for playoffs or playing while suspended), that game will be deemed an immediate forfeit loss and your opponent will continue on to the next round of the playoffs.

Substitute goalies must be approved by league administration.  If they are not approved and on the game sheet they will not be able to play and you will forfeit the game.

This season players will be required to wear "team jerseys" to play in all playoff games.  Accepted forms of "team jerseys" are, your team jersey complete with logo, a solid jersey with a number but no logo, or an NCHL practice jersey with a number on the back.  All jerseys must be the same in color and have distinct numbers.  Any jerseys with matching numbers will not be allowed, with the exception of the goaltender.

ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
Posted By: ADMIN
Monday, February 11, 2013

Hello everyone.  This is a general note about alcohol consumption in ALL Okotoks arenas.  They now have a ZERO tolerance policy for teams in the NCHL due to teams having alcohol in the dressing rooms.  Please ensure that you do NOT bring any alcohol into the arenas in Okotoks. Any teams to be caught by the town of Okotoks will lose all their ice in any of the Okotoks arenas, forfeiting any games they had scheduled their for the remainder of the season.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!!
